Mistakes to Avoid

So you’ve launched your first ad, or you’re just about to – exciting times! But let’s chat about some common ad slip-ups that can drain your budget or leave you wondering why no one’s clicking.

Don’t worry – I’ve made a few of these myself (we learn and grow, right?). Here are the ones to watch out for:

🚫 Targeting too broad
It’s tempting to try and reach everyone, but the truth is: if you’re talking to everyone, you’re talking to no one. Narrow down your audience so your message hits just right.

📉 Skipping the testing phase
Running only one version of your ad? Oof. Always test different visuals, headlines, and formats. Sometimes the “meh” version surprisingly outperforms the “perfect” one.

🕵️‍♀️ No tracking setup
Please, please set up Meta Pixel or Conversion API on your website. Without tracking, you’ll not understand if someone check your website from your ad.

💸 Setting it and forgetting it
You’ve gotta check in. Monitor performance, tweak your creatives, and optimize your budget as you go.

🤯 Too much text in creatives
Meta still prefers clean visuals. If your ad is just one big wall of words, the algorithm (and your audience) might skip it.


The key? Stay curious, keep tweaking, and don’t be afraid to experiment. Every “mistake” is just another step to finding what actually works for you.
